Chinese Tea Savory around Chinese Language Day

2022-04-20

A face-to-face cultural experience event of "Chinese Tea Savory” is jointly held by Confucius Institute for Business at Matej Bel University (CIB at UMB) and the State Scientific Library at Banska Bystrica (SVKBB) as the 13th United Nations Chinese Language Day approaches. The event is bilingual in English and Slovak with Miss Mária Onderufová, who is in charge of Window of Shanghai at the Library, as the interpreter.

The event exhibited 15 different types of Chinese tea. CIB Chinese director, Mr. Jianwei WANG, briefly introduced the sound early recordings of tea, the tips to distinguish the tea, and the Way of Tea, or Cha Dao. CIB Chinese teachers ZUO Hang and WAN Shiqi demonstrated the process of brewing tea. They brewed three different teas for participants of this activity to smell the scents and to savor the tastes.

About 40 people participated in the event and the lecturer answered about 20 questions raised by the participants.
