DUFE President visited UMB and CIB at UMB

On Nov. 14-17, the DUFE (Dongbei University of Finance and Economics) delegation visited MBU (Matej Bel University) and CIB at UMB (Confucius Institute for Business at Univerzite Mateja Bela). The delegation is led by FANG Hongxing, President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. Together with him are DENG Lili, Dean of School of International Education, DUFE; TAO Shuo, Director of International Office, DUFE; and WANG Mang, Head of Confucius Institute Affairs, DUFE.

During their visit, the CIB board meeting was held. The DUFE members were warmly welcomed by Mr. Rector Vladimír Hiadlovský, Madam Vice-Rector Miroslava Knapková, and CIB board member Mrs. Andrea Balková. The two parties renewed the agreement between CIEF, UMB and DUFE on the CIB cooperation, and signed the MoU between UMB and DUFE to expand the current cooperation into wider fields, such as joint academic and scientific activities, collaborative academic programs, student and staff mobility.

The DUFE delegation paid a visit to the Chinese Embassy in Slovakia, where Mr. Ambassador, CAI Ge, greeted the delegation. The DUFE delegation also visited the State Scientific Library of Slovakia at Banská Bystrica (SVK at BB) and the Window of Shanghai, a long-time partner of CIB at UMB.

The DUFE delegation went to the Chinese courses on college and grammar school levels and the Tai Chi Class. They also participated in the cultural activity of “Tea of the Season”, which was hosted by CIB at UMB together with the Windows of Shanghai of SVK at BB.

The visit of DUFE from afar is fruitful. The two parties reached broad consensus on further and deeper cooperation in academic exchanges, scholar and student mobility and cultural exchanges.
