Jointly-held Forum of Business Chinese Teaching Concluded Successfully

CIB at UMB, on her second anniversary, has cooperated with CIBL (Confucius Institute for Business London) for the first time to jointly hold the Forum of the 2021 Global Business Chinese Teaching Training & International Project Operation. Big names and experts were invited to attend the forum, which lasted from Sept. 17th – 19th. More than 40 Chinese teachers and graduate students enrolled and participated in the meeting.

During the forum, Prof. Joel BELLASSEN, Chairman of the European Association of Chinese Teaching, focused on the development, challenges and opportunities of the global Chinese teaching, and shared his understanding of Business Chinese. Prof. ZHANG Xinsheng, vice-Chairman of the European Association of Chinese Teaching, in view of the new “Three Levels and Nine Bands” Chinese proficiency standard of International Chinese Language Education, discussed the International Chinese examination and evaluation system from the perspective of European Chinese teaching. Professor SHEN Shuying, doctoral supervisor of Beijing Language and Culture University, shared her practice of the flipped classroom in Business Chinese Teaching. Prof. WANG Jinghui , CIBL China Director and doctoral supervisor of Tsinghua University, explained the professional attitude and language in the intercultural communication and cultural comparison.

ZHANG Jian, Dean of School of International Education, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, presented a lecture focusing on responsibilities and dedications of international exchanges and cooperation. WANG Jianwei, our Chinese Director at CIB at UMB, introduced how to communicate effectively by cultural comparison and cultural communication, that is, “to see similarities in diversities”. Our Chinese teacher, QIN Bofang, introduced immersion Chinese teaching and shared valuable teaching platforms to make it easy to change from offline to online.
